Treatment for lung cancer depends on the type of cancer, the size and location of the tumour, the stage the cancer is at and the age and general physical condition of the patient.

Lung cancer patients should be monitored on a regular basis following treatment, even if there are no signs of the cancer continuing as Secondary lung cancer can develop in a considerable number of survivors.

Treatment for Lung Cancer

Treatment depends on a number of factors, including the type of lung cancer (non-small or small cell lung cancer), the size, location, and extent of the tumour, and the general health of the patient. Many different treatments and combinations of treatments may be used to control lung cancer, and/or to improve quality of life by reducing the more severe symptoms.
