Acupuncture Needles
M. Ben Aria
Acupuncture needles are probably the first things to enter your mind when someone mentions acupuncture. Acupuncture needles are unique. They are different from syringes and are about twenty times thinner. These needles are always disposable and never reused. Because an acupuncture session can use anywhere from one to twenty needles, acupuncturists need a massive supply of acupuncture needles.
Tips For Buying And Using Acupuncture Needles
Use of acupuncture is pretty much regulated. Some states have laws restricting certain practices or requiring practitioners to be licensed. Despite being historically viewed with great suspicion, acupuncture is becoming more accepted by society and even medical experts. Researchers have even substantiated many of the claims made by acupuncturists like the reduction of back pain and nausea.
There is much more to acupuncture than inserting needles into the body. Acupuncture is an ancient medical practice that dates back many centuries ago. It is considered alternative medicine. However, despite having roots in eastern mysticism, acupuncture has been revealed to be scientifically effective for a wide variety of ailments. These include headaches, body aches, lower back pain, nausea and more.
Many states require acupuncturists to use only FDA-approved needles. Because the needles are inserted deep into the skin, sometimes near the muscle or fat, it is exceedingly important to ascertain the quality of the materials used. Acupuncturists should be suspicious of cheap acupuncture needles available for sale online, especially those coming from abroad.
There’s a dizzying array of needles available, each one specifically made for a different purpose. Some needles have plastic, silver, or nickel handles. Some even have fancy designs on them. There are some needles that are specially made to allow the attachment of wires which acupuncturists use to transfer minute amounts of electric current. Others will generate some heat on the needles for greater stimulation.
Many people abhor the sight of needles. Many individuals find the thought of acupuncture to be scary. But there really is no need to be alarmed. Acupuncture needles do not feel a thing when inserted into the skin. There usually is no evidence that needles where inserted when they are taken off. Even mild scars are very rare.
